If your child is 7 years of age or older, their preparation for Baptism is different from that of an infant or younger child. You will need to speak with our RCIA/RCIC Coordinator, who will guide you through the appropriate preparation and sacramental journey for your child.

Admission into the Catholic Church should refer to the R.C.I.A. Programme which is conducted every year in our Church.

Requesting a Copy of Your Baptismal Record

If you require a copy of your Baptismal Certificate or Baptismal Record from Lumen Christi Catholic Parish, Wollongong, you can submit a request to our Parish Office.

Lumen Christi Catholic Parish holds sacramental records for baptisms celebrated at:

• St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Wollongong

• St John Vianney Co-Cathedral, Fairy Meadow

• St Brigid’s Catholic Church, Gwynneville

• Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, Balgownie

When submitting your request, please provide your full name at the time of Baptism, date of birth, approximate date or year of Baptism, parents’ names, and the church where the Baptism took place.

Please allow sufficient time for our Parish Office to locate and prepare your record, particularly for older sacramental records.
